The webinar Space Careers in the classroom took place in the Scientix online meeting room on Monday 10th October 2016 at 17:00 CEST, Brussels time.
We live in a high tech world, full of gadgets, smartphones and applications. To sustain this development we need that the boys and girls of today become the future generation of engineers and scientists. Space is no different! Educators were invited to learn some examples of STEM/Space jobs and examples of activities that can be presented in the classroom to bring this topic to students.
The webinar was held by Cátia Cardoso, manager of ESERO Portugal, a collaboration between Ciência Viva and ESA. Cátia obtained her PhD in Physics from the University of Exeter (UK) in 2012. After doing a post-doc at the Osservatorio Astronomico di Torino (Italy) / University of Hertfordshire (UK) she joined Ciência Viva with a grant awarded by FCT in science and technology management. She is also the contact point of Ciência Viva for the Space Awareness project.
