Did you know that it is possible to do research without being (yet!) a scientist? In their quest to understanding our Universe, astronomers need to collect large amounts of data, like samples of rocks, sky observations or pictures. They get so much data that they can’t handle it by themselves! As computers are not good enough to visually classify some of these images, scientists had the idea of setting up online platforms where everyone interested can help them. With thousands of eyes and hands, their research can be faster.
This is what we call Citizen Science and you can be part of it.
